Our purpose is to enhance leadership at every level of public school administration with a particular focus on the chief executive of local school systems. Through professional development activities and programs, GSSA helps to ensure that Georgia’s local school superintendents remain abreast of the latest information, techniques, procedures, and policies affecting Georgia public education. By providing accurate and credible information resources, GSSA helps to influence legislation and policy-making decisions impacting Georgia public education. Through effective leadership training for those who aspire to the superintendency, GSSA helps to ensure that Georgia’s future school leaders are prepared today to lead tomorrow by promoting harmony and cooperative working relationships among the various entities responsible for public education initiatives in the state and the nation. GSSA strives to build the bridges that enable progress toward the goals of improved educational opportunities for all citizens. And most importantly, GSSA stands strongly for the public education rights and privileges granted to all of Georgia’s nearly 1.6 million public school children working diligently to ensure that they receive the finest educational opportunities available.
